Adrian Martin

Adrian Martin is an Irish chef from County Cavan. He trained in some of Ireland’s most renowned restaurants, including MacNean House (where he worked for six years) and the Michelin Star restaurant, Bon Appetite in Malahide, where he was Head of Pastry. While working in kitchens, he studied pastry at DIT Kevin Street, Professional Cookery in South West College Enniskillen, and holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the School of Tourism, Killybegs.

  

Schools And Cookery Demos

As a proud dad to Kai and husband to Maria, Adrian has a passion for food education within Irish schools and has spent the last 10 years teaching food education giving his talks and cooking demos to hundreds of kids across the country. You’ll also find him demonstrating at Ireland’s premier events, such as Bord Bia Bloom, Taste of Dublin, Flavours of Fingal, The National Ploughing Championship, Fish Friday at Kilmore Quay, and Irish Agricultural Shows including Tullamore Show, Castleblaney Show, Claremorris Show, Bannow & Rathangan Show, and Clogher Valley Show.

Restaurants

Adrian has owned numerous restaurants and cafés throughout his career, most notably Wildflower, which opened 7 days before the first covid lockdown in London’s Camden Market. Wildflower went on to become one of the top 100 restaurants in the UK, in addition to being named Cateys Food Oscars Best Newcomer in the UK and featured on the Murphia List for top Irish restaurants in London. Adrian’s restaurant, Wildflower, pops up now and again in different locations such as blackrock market and recently Airfield Estate.

On TV

Adrian is a regular staple on our screens. As resident chef on Virgin Media’s The Six O’Clock Show for the last 13 years, as well as multiple guest appearances on TV in the UK and Ireland. Adrian has also hosted several of his own cookery shows. These include ‘Fakeaway’ and ‘Chef Adrian Eats Ireland’ for RTÉ, ‘Wild Cooks’ for BBC and ‘Cook’ on Amazon Prime Video.

Adrian is also a regular contributor to RTÉ 2fm (Laura Fox Show), RTÉ Radio One (Ray Darcy Show), and Newstalk (Lunchtime Live with Andrea Gilligan).

Cookbooks

As a published author, Adrian has released four cookery books, two of which have become bestsellers across Ireland and the UK, including ‘Fakeaway’ and ‘Create’. Adrian has also written two charity cookbooks: ‘Feed the Heroes’, which raised €20,000 for frontline workers, and The Odlums ‘The Big Book of Baking’, which raised over €200,000 for The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.

Other Ventures

Adrian has had success in a variety of other ventures, most notably as a proud ambassador to the charities Barnados, Bumblance and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. In 2019, he launched his range of soups and sandwiches with coffee chain Insomnia across their 400 outlets in Ireland. Adrian has also worked on several media campaigns including those for Safefood, Bord Bia, the European Parliament, Try Lamb, Manor Farm, National Dairy Council, Connaught Gold, and Nordmende, to name but a few.
